Welcome to our group rcFoamFighters Groups! Wix discontinued the Forum App portion of the website, so we had to switch it to Wix Groups. It is mostly the same, just a little different layout. This is still a space for us all to connect and share with each other. Start by posting your ideas for RC plane designs, questions about rcFoamfighters planes, your thoughts about the hobby, sharing media of RC planes and flights, or creating a poll.

FF-18 Motor Mount Template

Hello everyone, this is just a quick post to add a PDF Template for the Bloody Micks FF-18 plane that is posted in the Foamboard Planes Tab of this website. Frank Casper asked if I could make a motor mount template since there was not one in the original plans Jon McCarty of the Bloody Micks made. I made a PDF template base on Jon's original CAD Plan. Please see the link below for the free PDF.

Hello CountryFideRob,

The FF-18 was made by Jon McCarty of the Bloody Micks and he made the plans long ago. Unfortunately, I do not know of a build video that Jon did, I don't believe he ever made one. Also he did not appear to make plans with all the notes telling what each line means. Some of my plans from the early days, I also did not make build videos for. The FF-18 plan is just posted as another free plan for scratch builders. Lets take a look at the plan he made, and I can try and tell you what each color line means.

From the image below, here are what the colors mean: Black line: Straight cut all the way through the Foamboard.

Red Dashed Lines on Ailerons: Edge of the 45 Degree Bevel Cut

Green Dashed Lines on Ailerons: Center Guideline of 45 Degree Bevel Cut

Solid Red Line on Ailerons: Straight Cut all the way through the foamboard.

Black Rectangle: Cut Tab Notches for fuselage, belly pan and wing leading edges to fit in.

Red Rectangle: Cut tab notches for the Vertical Stabilizers.

Green Dashed Lines on Fuselage: Denote 45 Degree Bevel Cut.

Red Dashed Lines on Fuselage: Denote Center line of Double 45 Degree Bevel Cut.

RC simulator

Can anyone guide me on using the FlySky CT6B transmitter to simulate drones and RC planes in a drone simulator? I have a simulator cable that works properly with T6 Config software, showing correct joystick outputs. However, the transmitter doesn’t connect to the simulator software when I try to simulate a drone. Any suggestions to resolve this issue?

Logesh M, I have not used Depron in a very long time. Most of us here in the USA are using 5mm Foamboard from DollarTree stores or craft stores. If you are here in the USA you can find Depron on Amazon.com If you are outside the USA you can find 5mm Depron at alibaba alibaba.com/countrysearch/CN/depron-5mm.html

The FF-Viper-50mm plans have USA Letter size tiled pages. The Plans also include a NON-Tiled sheet at the very end of the plan set. Full size plan is USA Architectural size 24x36 inches, which is close to A1 size.

Sub 250 Gram RC Planes

Hello everyone, I just wanted to make a discussion category for light sub 250 gram RC Planes. If anyone has any fun designs, questions or comments about sub 250 gram RC Planes please post them here. I know this class of RC plane may not need the FAA remote ID module attached depending on where you are flying, etc. What are your thoughts on this? I recently just made my first scratch build sub 250 gram RC plane, the FF-Razor. I will soon be adding free plans for this plane to the website as soon as finish adding the notes to the drawings. Here is the video I made about the plane.
